Mediterranean Life Between Sea & Mountains

TADAH is located in the countryside near Manavgat on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast, approximately one hour from Antalya International Airport.

It is a remarkably diverse corner of the Mediterranean. Long beaches and ancient cities lie in one direction; rivers, forests, canyons and the Taurus Mountains begin in the other.

And despite feeling wonderfully removed from everyday life, TADAH is not isolated. Manavgat, local markets, shops, restaurants and the coast are all within easy reach.

And last but not least, the beach!

Getting to TADAH

For many years, we have worked with Ali, our trusted local transport coordinator, who can arrange airport transfers directly from Antalya Airport to TADAH.

Depending on your group size and arrival times, this might be a car, minibus or several vehicles. Larger groups can often travel particularly economically by sharing a suitable vehicle.

You can communicate with Ali directly via WhatsApp in English — translation apps make the rest surprisingly easy.

We are happy to put you in touch before your stay so you can arrange the option that works best for your group.

Sea, Ruins & Mediterranean Life

The Mediterranean is close enough for an afternoon at the beach or a swim after a day of training.

Nearby Side combines long sandy beaches with an extraordinary ancient city. Temples, theatres and Roman ruins sit directly beside the modern town and the sea.

Further along the coast are quieter beaches, seaside towns and plenty of places to swim, eat or simply watch the sun disappear into the Mediterranean.

A Side Institution Since 1962

Just beside the famous Temple of Apollo, you’ll find Apollonik Café, founded in 1962 by Dietmar and Fadime Friese, Deniz’s grandparents.

It is one of the oldest cafés and restaurants in ancient Side and has been part of the life of the old town for more than six decades. It was also them who bought and cultivated the very land Tadah was buılt upon.

You’ll recognise it from afar by its unmistakable character — and by the enormous 30-metre-high rubber tree that has grown there for more than 60 years. Over the decades, the tree and the café beneath it have become something of a landmark themselves, almost as inseparable from this corner of Side and the ancient temple next door.

For us, a visit to Side simply isn’t complete without stopping at Apollonik.

Canyons, Rivers & Mountains

Head inland and the landscape changes quickly.

The foothills of the Taurus Mountains are full of rivers, canyons, mountain landscapes and ancient sites. Köprülü Canyon is well known for rafting and outdoor activities, while Oymapınar Lake offers a completely different landscape less than an hour from TADAH.

Further into the mountains you can explore places such as the ancient city of Selge, or visit Alarahan, a historic caravanserai set beside a beautiful river.

There is a surprising amount to discover within a relatively small area.

A Free Day Can Be Almost Anything

Not every excursion needs to involve archaeology or hiking boots.

You can go rafting, swimming or sightseeing; spend the day at a waterpark; explore Side; rent bicycles or other small vehicles along the coast; head out for dinner; or simply find a beach and do very little indeed.

Some groups plan a full excursion in advance. Others finish breakfast and decide they would quite like to see the sea.

Both work.

Getting Around

You don’t need your own car to stay at TADAH.

Ali can also arrange transportation for trips around the region, from individual cars to vehicles suitable for larger groups. This can be useful for beach days, excursions, shopping trips or evenings out.

For spontaneous journeys, there is also a local taxi company that can usually send a car directly to TADAH.

We are always happy to share our favourite places, help you understand distances and transport options, and connect you with local providers where useful.

Public Transport

Public transport in our immediate area is fairly limited, so we don’t recommend it for groups travelling to TADAH. A pre-arranged transfer is considerably easier, particularly when travelling with luggage or training equipment.

For independent travellers with some time and a sense of adventure, it is possible to reach us from Antalya Airport using a combination of tram, regional bus and taxi, with the final part of the journey by taxi from the Evrenseki area.

It works — but it is not the most straightforward way to arrive.

Turkey Beyond the Headlines

Turkey sometimes looks rather different from Central Europe than it feels when you are actually here.

Over the years, international news about elections, conflicts elsewhere in the region, earthquakes, political events, wildfires and other crises has sometimes created uncertainty among people considering a visit — even when everyday life here on the Antalya coast remained largely unchanged.

TADAH is in the Antalya region on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast, a long-established international travel destination with direct connections to cities across Europe through Antalya International Airport.

If something is happening that genuinely affects travel to TADAH, we will tell you. And if something you have seen in the news makes you uncertain about coming, you are always welcome to ask us what the situation actually looks like locally.

An Independent Place with Local Roots

TADAH has been part of this landscape since 2013.

We are an independent, artist-run place rather than a resort or tour operator. Money spent here supports TADAH, the people who work with us and the local businesses, markets and producers we use around Manavgat.

For us, living here has always meant moving between worlds: welcoming an international artistic community while being deeply connected to the village, landscape and people around us.

That combination is a big part of what makes TADAH what it is.
