The Small Studio
A Quiet Space to Focus
Our 75 m² Small Studio offers a different kind of training environment at TADAH.
While the Main Studio is all about height, openness and aerial possibilities, the Small Studio is deliberately more contained. Close the door, put on your music and concentrate on what you came to do.
It works particularly well for yoga, Pilates, juggling, handstands, conditioning, movement research, individual practice, online classes and smaller group sessions.
The Basics
- 75 m² training space
- 9 m mirrored wall
- 2.5 m ceiling height
- Professional raised dance floor
- Powerful air-conditioning
- Quiet, enclosed training environment
- Training equipment available directly in and around the studio
- Comfortable sofa and space for breaks, observation or online work
Depending on the activity, the studio works comfortably for groups of around 12–15 people. Yoga or floor-based practice can accommodate more people comfortably than disciplines requiring a large individual working area.
A Floor Made for Training
The Small Studio has the same raised professional training floor concept as our Main Studio.
Rather than laying dance flooring directly onto concrete, the studio floor sits approximately 15 cm above the structural floor, creating an insulated and slightly forgiving training surface.
For artists spending many hours on their feet, this makes a real difference. The construction reduces the harshness of training directly on concrete and provides a more comfortable surface for dance, juggling, movement, handstands and other repetitive training.
The surface is durable, easy to clean and designed for intensive everyday use.
Equipped for More Than One Kind of Practice
The Small Studio has gradually accumulated a wide range of equipment for movement, conditioning, circus and bodywork.
Equipment includes:
- Pilates reformer
- Pilates balls
- Yoga mats
- Juggling balls, clubs and other props
- Ribbons
- Medicine balls
- Weights
- Step platforms
- Balance and instability equipment
- Mobility and conditioning equipment
- Various smaller training props
A more detailed and regularly updated equipment inventory is available for groups with specific training requirements.
Strength & Conditioning
The training possibilities continue directly outside the studio.
An adjacent outdoor training area provides additional strength and conditioning equipment, including free weights, bars and dedicated weight-training equipment.
Together with the nearby calisthenics area, this gives artists the possibility to combine their regular studio practice with strength, mobility and conditioning work during their stay.
Low-Level Rigging & Hanging Points
The Small Studio also has permanently mounted square steel bars at ceiling level, providing possibilities for selected low-level hanging and training setups.
With a ceiling height of 2.5 m, this is not an aerial studio and is not intended to replace the rigging possibilities of the Main Studio. Instead, the overhead structure can be useful for appropriate low-level exercises and equipment.
As with all rigging at TADAH, groups are responsible for assessing whether their intended setup, equipment and use are appropriate.
Your Own Little Training Bubble
One of the things people appreciate most about the Small Studio is something that is difficult to put into specifications.
It feels private.
There is no large glass façade and no need for the space to feel performative. You can close the doors, turn on the air-conditioning, put on your music and disappear into your practice for a while.
That makes it particularly useful for individual training, small-group work, online classes, focused research or sessions where you simply don’t want distractions.
And when you need a break, there is even a sofa.
Sometimes the smaller studio is exactly the one you want.
